Frequently Asked Questions

Does ArtCraft Companion upload my private PSD files?

Never. All parsing, layer rasterization, composite rendering, and ZIP exports happen strictly inside your local browser via HTML5 Canvas and Web APIs. Your confidential client files and proprietary artwork never touch any external server.

What file formats can I inspect and export?

You can drag and drop any .psd or .psb (Photoshop Big) document. You can export the entire composite or individual layers as PNG (lossless with alpha), modern WebP, or JPEG, or batch download every single layer cleanly named in a single ZIP.

How does this relate to PhotoCraft on GitHub?

PhotoCraft is the official desktop application written in Rust by the Storytold team. Because PhotoCraft is in early alpha and requires local compilation, ArtCraft Companion serves as an instant web companion for quick previews, layer auditing, and format conversions.

Can I test this without having a PSD on my device?

Yes! Just click "Try Demo PSD" in the top navigation bar. Our in-browser engine generates a multi-layer sample PSD on the fly featuring layers, glow effects, typography, and badge graphics so you can test all features instantly.

ArtCraft Companion is an independent community companion tool designed for the open-source creative software ecosystem.
